SystemRescueCD - distribution Linux, based on Gentoo. Distributed as a bootable LiveCD-image. Designed for the administration and restore system and data after a crash. Contains tools for working with hard drive: the creation and editing hard disk partitions, diagnosis, preservation and restoration of sections. Supplied c a lot of programs Linux, such as system-tools (parted, partimage, fstools, etc.) and basic tools (editors, midnight commander, network tools).
A boot disk can be used on servers Linux, desktop computers running Linux or Windows. The kernel supports major file systems (ext2/ext3/ext4, ReiserFS, Reiser4, Btrfs, XFS, JFS, VFAT, NTFS, iso9660), as well as network file system (Samba and NFS).
What's New in This Release:
- Standard kernels: added recent fedora patches to linux-2.6.38.8 (rescuecd + rescue64)
- Alternative kernels: updated sources to linux-2.6.39.3 (altker32 + altker64)
